DeWine Said No To $900M In Funds For Ohioans

In 2021, Governor Mike DeWine refused unemployment funds from the federal government that would have gone to workers affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. These funds would have amounted to roughly $300 per filer, per week over a 10 week period. Or to put it another way, Ohio’s economy would have seen an injection of about $900 million dollars. But DeWine turned it down on Ohioans behalf?

What a devious little gremlin.

You may be wondering, why are we talking about this now? This week, DeWine was ordered by a Franklin County judge to “Take all action necessary” to retrieve the federal benefits.

What action did he take? He ordered Attorney General Dave Yost (and candidate for Governor) to file an appeal for the order.

Of course DeWine and Yost won't help working families without a fight.
