Steak Roast

The Geauga County Democratic Party is proud to welcome Chris Gibbs, Chair of the Shelby County, Ohio Democratic Party as featured speaker.  Mr. Gibbs, a farmer and former Chair of the Shelby County Republican Party, joined the Democratic party after becoming disillusioned with the policies of the GOP during the Trump years. His work to highlight the shared values of Americans of all political persuasions, especially in rural communities, has become a blueprint for his fellow Democrats in Ohio and around the country.  A profile of Mr. Gibbs’ transformation in the New York Times on May 14 (https://www.nytimes.com/2024/05/14/opinion/charlie-gibbs-ohio-democrats.html) made him a sought-after speaker.

“We’re delighted that Chris Gibbs will share his message about connecting with others through our shared values at the Steak Roast on September 29th”, said Janet Carson, Chair of the Geauga County Democratic Party.  “I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Chris through my leadership of the Ohio Democratic County Chairs Association, so I know our members and friends will be inspired by his story as much as I have been. Everyone is invited to attend the Steak Roast and enjoy the company of our fellow Geauga residents.”

The dinner is buffet style and will offer a choice of a steak or chicken, sauteed mushrooms, side dishes, salad, rolls and butter and desserts, including beer, wine, soda and coffee.  Vegetarian and gluten free options are also available.

Democratic candidates for local and state offices will also attend, and yard signs, literature and voter information will be available at the dinner.
